The Maumee girls tennis team put together another strong week, capped by a runner-up finish at the Fostoria Invitational last weekend.

Lily Jones and Sophia Pan led the way with a first-place finish at third doubles, while the duo of Mckayla Hayes and Tylee Alvarez placed second at first doubles. Hilari Miko added a third-place finish at first singles, and the team of Laci Winckowski and Lily Hucke earned third at second doubles.

Earlier in the week, the Panthers rolled past Toledo Christian, 4-1. Winckowski won at second singles, 6-4, 6-0, while Hucke cruised at third singles, 6-1, 6-0. Hayes and Alvarez dominated at first doubles, 6-1, 6-0, and Jones and Pan claimed a straight-sets win at second doubles.

In junior varsity action, Mya Daughters-Ramsey and Camila Belcher both picked up victories.

With the results, Maumee improved to 8-2 overall.
