Maumee wasted no time in securing a spot in Thursday’s Division III boys soccer sectional final, topping Rogers 8-0 in a semifinal on Monday at Kazmaier Stadium that ended after one half because of a mercy rule.

The Panthers used constant pressure in the attacking third to smother the Rams (3-7-1). Defensively, Maumee rarely allowed Rogers to advance the ball past midfield.

Noah Preciado and Charlie Skeels each had a pair of goals for Maumee; Skeels also had an assist. Jaxson Greenlese had a goal and three assists, including two off big throw-ins. Braden Bond had a goal and an assist.

Everett Bertsch and David Poeppelmeier each added goals, while Cooper Roberts and Mason Moore tallied assists.

The Panthers (13-4-1) will go for their fifth straight sectional title when they host Napoleon at 7 p.m. Thursday. The last time the two squads faced off was in October 2022.
