After losing two of their first three games this season, the Maumee volleyball team has caught fire. The Panthers have rattled off three straight wins, including back-to-back sweeps and a five-set thriller, to move to 4-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Northern Buckeye Conference play.

Maumee opened its streak with a pair of 3-0 victories last week.

Against Rossford, the Panthers won 25-17, 25-23, 25-17 behind Brooke Kwiatkowski’s 24 assists, nine digs and four kills. Sydney Genot and Reign Hurt each had seven kills, with Genot adding 12 digs and two aces. Bryanna Lankey chipped in five kills, while Julia Coutcher provided 13 digs and three aces.

In a dominant sweep of Fostoria (25-19, 25-9, 25-12), Lankey and Hayden Vascik each had five kills and three blocks. Vascik added two aces, while Kwiatkowski shined at the service line with nine aces, along with 17 assists, three digs and three kills. Genot tallied four kills, four digs and three aces, and Coutcher led the defense with 15 digs.

The Panthers capped the stretch with a dramatic 3-2 win over visiting Genoa on Tuesday, taking the match 25-17, 22-25, 25-27, 25-22, 15-10. Genot delivered a monster performance with 18 kills, 25 digs, two aces and two blocks, while Hurt added 13 kills. Lankey turned in 11 kills and six blocks, and Vascik had eight kills.

Coutcher finished with 28 digs and seven assists, and Kwiatkowski stuffed the stat sheet with 39 assists, 29 digs, seven kills, four aces and two blocks.
