A pair of Panthers punched through three goals apiece as the Maumee boys soccer team stayed perfect in the Northern Buckeye Conference with a 9-0 win over Genoa last week.

Noah Preciado, who leads the team in scoring, recorded a hat trick to raise his total to 13 goals on the season. Freshman Anthony Bellafronte also found the net three times, giving him five goals this year.

Charlie Skeels added two goals and two assists against the Comets. He now sits second on the team with 20 points. Jaxson Greenlese scored once and had two assists.

David Poeppelmeier, Cason Brown, Braden Bond and Nate Durham also recorded assists.

The Panthers have still never allowed a goal in 14 conference matches since joining the NBC.

Maumee also traveled to central Ohio power Jonathan Alder on Saturday, falling 2-1 after the Pioneers scored twice in the final 16 minutes on corner kicks. Skeels scored in the first half off an assist from Bond.

The Panthers are now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Panthers Girls Soccer

Lauren Liwo had a dozen saves as the Maumee girls soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Genoa last in a Northern Buckeye Conference match at Kazmaier Stadium.

Later in the week, the Panthers fell to visiting Celina 4-0.

Maumee is now 0-6-1- overall and 0-1-1 in the conference.
