The Maumee girls golf team continued its hot streak in the Northern Buckeye Conference with a pair of strong finishes in the last two conference shootouts of the season.
In last week’s third shootout at Heather Downs Country Club, Kallie Yeager placed second among individuals with a 45, and Jadyn Netry was right behind with a 46 to lead the Panthers to a third-place finish with a 202 team score. Genoa won the event with a 189, and Otsego took second with a 201.
Lillie Nye (52) and Hannah Ruiz (59) rounded out the scoring for Maumee.
At Monday’s fourth and final shootout at Crosswinds Golf Course, Netry took medalist honors with a 1-over-par 36, leading the Panthers to a second-place team finish with a 196.
Yeager shot a 47, while Nye and Ruiz each carded 55s.
Maumee sits in second place overall with 17 points. The Panthers will look to gain ground on Otsego and Genoa at the NBC Championship on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Green Hills Golf Course in Clyde.

The Maumee boys team finished sixth overall at the third NBC Shootout at Fostoria Country Club last week, posting a 174.
Antonio Valadez led the Panthers with a 41, while Mateo Valadez and Josh Pero each shot 44s. J.J. Peace added a 45.
