Apparently, breaking the school record once this season wasn’t good enough for Teagan Kennedy.

The Maumee senior raised the bar again last weekend at the Dave’s XC Invitational at Ottawa Park, winning the race in 17:59.58. Kennedy shaved nearly six seconds off her previous school record set two weeks earlier at Columbus Grove.

Her time wasn’t just fast by Maumee standards – it’s the best recorded by any girl in northwest Ohio this season, more than 14 seconds clear of the rest of the field.

Kennedy wasn’t the only Panther posting a blazing time in the Varsity A race. Sophomore Arriana Dugan placed seventh overall with a time of 19:19.

Maumee’s pack running showed strength as well, with Chloe Perez (21:08), Cienna Fraley (21:14) and Bentley Stewart (21:19) finishing back-to-back-to-back in 29th through 31st place. Senior Penny Farley (27:42) and Kylie Brown (28:09) rounded out the Panthers’ lineup.

On the boys side, Noah Wagner and Aaron Powell both cracked the top 10 in the Varsity B race. Wagner crossed in sixth place in a personal best time of 18:24, while Powell finished 10th in 18:48.

The boys finished first out of nine teams, scoring 66 points.

Behind them, the Panthers showed depth with a tight pack: Bryson Danielski took 14th in 18:56, David Ybarra placed 17th in 19:09, and Luke Reeves was 19th in 19:10.

Eithan Curson also represented the team, finishing in 23:14.
