For the first time in 15 matches, a Northern Buckeye Conference opponent found the back of the net against the Maumee boys soccer team. But the Panthers still had more than enough offense to keep rolling.
Behind a four-goal outburst from Noah Preciado, Maumee handled Lake 4-1 to improve to 3-0 in the NBC. The Flyers’ lone tally snapped Maumee’s shutout streak in league play, but it didn’t slow the Panthers.
Jaxson Greenlese set up two of Preciado’s strikes and Charlie Skeels added another assist.
The Panthers followed with two more non-conference victories to push their overall record to 7-3. They edged Clay 3-2 and outlasted host Delta 6-4.
Against the Eagles, Skeels netted two goals while Preciado added one. Greenlese, Anthony Bellafronte and Cooper Roberts each contributed an assist.
Maumee’s goalkeeping duties were split, with Connor Eitniear collecting five saves against Clay and Jaxon Blue adding three stops in the second half.
