Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: the Maumee boys soccer team won the Northern Buckeye Conference title, and the player of the year is once again a Panther.

Maumee claimed its third consecutive NBC championship, finishing 6-0 in league play and out-scoring opponents 45-3. Over that three-year run, the Panthers are 18-0 in conference matches with an astonishing 145-3 goal differential.

Following two straight Player of the Year honors for Blake Wagener, senior Noah Preciado earned the 2025 award after a dominant season in which he tallied 36 goals and six assists for 78 total points.

Preciado was joined on the All-NBC first team by teammates Jaxson Greenlese (13 goals, 10 assists) and Charlie Skeels (14 goals, 11 assists). Goalkeeper Jaxson Blue, Nate Durham, and Brock Saneholtz earned second-team honors, while Everett Bertsch was named honorable mention.

Maumee finished the regular season with a 12-4-1 overall record and earned the No. 4 seed in the Division III district tournament. The Panthers will host Rogers on Monday at 7 p.m. in a sectional semifinal. The winner advances to face No. 5 Napoleon on Thursday, with the higher seed hosting.

A sectional win would send Maumee to the Lake District, where the Panthers will aim for a third straight district title. Top-seeded Springfield, St. Marys Memorial, and Celina—which edged Maumee 5-4 earlier this season—headline the rest of the bracket.

The Panthers enter tournament play on a roll, going 4-0-1 in their last five matches while out-scoring opponents 28-5. The only blemish came in a 2-2 tie with state-ranked Wauseon.
